It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 9/24/12

Sunday, September 23, 2012

Jen and Kellee host a weekly meme called "What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA." It encourages you to share what you read during the previous week and to plan what you're going to read/review during the current week. Thank you, Kelly and Jen, for hosting this fun meme.

How Rocket Learned to Read. Written and Illustrated by Tad Hills. Random House, 2010.

Why did you re-read it twice last week, Mr. Schu?

I re-read it...

1.in order to prepare for Tad's upcoming author visit.

2. after I received Tad's responses to my interview questions.

The Insomniacs. Written by Karina Wolf. Illustrated by The Brothers Hilts. Penguin, 2012.

Why did you read it, Mr. Schu?

Its clever book trailer convinced me to read it. I'm glad I did, because I totally "get" Mika and her sleep-deprived parents.

Ruby Holler and Absolutely Normal Choas. By Sharon Creech. HarperCollins.

Why did you read these excellent books, Mr. Schu?

Now that I've read Ruby Holler and Absolutely Normal Choas, I can "brag" that I've read every single Creech novel for young readers. (I haven't read her adults novels.)

A Wrinkle in Time. By Madeleine L'Engle. Macmillian, 1962.

Why did you read it, Mr. Schu?

Mr. Colby Sharp and I read it for the Newbery Challenge.

It's Like This, Cat. By Emily Cheney Neville.
