Every Friday I invite an author or an educator to finish my sentences. I'm thrilled that fourth-grade teacher and reading activist Mr. Colby Sharp agreed to tell us about three-time Newbery Honor winner Jennifer L. Holm's visit to his school.

*My students prepared for Jennifer L. Holm’s author visit by reading her books, reading and discussing her Nerdy Book Club post, checking out her website, and having some fun on the Pinterest page Mr. Schu created for Babymouse.
*Jennifer told my students that they should never stop doodling. They really liked that:)
*I overheard one of my students say "I think Jenni Holm likes Mr. Sharp almost as much as she likes him."
*My students will always remember how Jenni made them feel like the most important readers in the whole world. She took the time to look each one of them in the eye and show them that they mattered. I think that my students left the day feeling like Jenni Holm was a fan of each one of them.
*When kids meet an author face-to-face they get a chance to see that they are “real” people just like them. My students thought Jenni Holm had to visit the grocery store in disguise so that she wouldn’t get mobbed, and that she was going to pull up in a Lamborghini.
*Mr. Schu, you should have asked me about the title of Babymouse 18. My students flipped out
when Jenni told them. I guess since you didn’t ask, I shouldn’t tell...
