It won't surprise you to read that I follow and LOVE Best of lists. Whenever I stumble upon a list, it gets "filed" (that word reminds me of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler and her elaborate filing system) in a Google document entitled "2012 Best Books." (Clever title, eh? Ummm...I think not. I should have come up with a more creative title.)
Anyway, my reason for writing this post is not to share every parenthetical thought that pops into my peculiar brain. It is to share that I'm going to use this blog entry to keep track of Best of lists. I hope you'll find it useful.

Publishers Weekly divided children's books into three sections.
The longlists for the Clip Carnegie and Kate Grenaway Medals were announced on November 5. The shortlist will be announced on March 19, 2013.
