Jen and Kellee host a weekly meme called "What Are You Reading? From Picture Books to YA." It encourages you to share what you read during the previous week and to plan what you're going to read/review during the current week. Thank you, Kelly and Jen, for hosting this fun meme.
Bailey at the Museum. Written and illustrated by Harry Bliss. Scholastic, 2012. Interest level:K-3.
An anonymous (fictitious?) interviewer: Mr. Schu, what will you point out to first graders when you booktalk Bailey at the Museum?
1. Harry Bliss visited my school library four years ago. I will show the first graders the sketches Harry drew during his presentation and his spot on the "STAR AUTHORS" wall.
2. I will point out the hilarious details hidden in Harry's illustrations. For example, check out what Bailey's classmates are reading during the bus ride to the museum.
3. I'll stress that Harry Bliss is a master cartoonist.
Pete the Cat Saves Christmas. Created and illustrated by James Dean; story by Eric Litwin. Harper, 2012. Interest level: K-2.
