Literary Tourist

(Donna Kouri wrote today's post for our road trip blog.)

Mr. Schu and I love to visit fun places on our road trips. These may be unusual monuments or places that relate to our favorite literary characters and authors. In the past we have visited many such sites.

We visited Ramona at the Beverly Cleary Sculpture Garden in Portand, Oregon.

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art was closed, but we found this outside.

We found Horton at the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.

We visited Laura Ingalls Wilder's grave in Mansfield, Missouri.

These have all been sites that we have heard of through word of mouth or through websites such as Roadside America. This year we have a new tool at our disposal to help us find these sites.

Literary Tourist

Literary Tourist will come in handy as we travel this summer. It will allow us to look for local bookstores, find the nearby graves of authors, find literary festivals, and discover literary destinations. Stay tuned to see which exciting places we discover!

Mr. Schu, Ivan, and I hit the road on July 23. We hope you will follow our adventures at LetsGoSouth12.com.
